SlopAlert is a Chrome extension that marks formulaic engagement bait, clickbait, and low-effort posts while you browse. It helps you decide what deserves your attention before you spend time reading it.
SlopAlert reads the public post text currently visible in your feed and evaluates it with Jev using the API key you provide. It then adds a clear stamp or badge when the post matches common engagement-bait patterns.
The Chrome extension supports X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Threads, and Reddit. Other browsers and platforms are not part of the current launch version.
No. SlopAlert only analyzes public post text visible in the active feed. It does not read direct messages, drafts, compose boxes, passwords, or keystrokes.
SlopAlert is designed to stay lightweight. It analyzes visible posts as you scroll and avoids repeatedly scoring the same post. Actual response time depends on your Jev API connection.
Yes. The extension includes Relaxed, Balanced, and Strict sensitivity modes, plus badge and dim display options.
SlopAlert costs $4.99 as a one-time purchase. There is no SlopAlert subscription or renewal. You provide your own Jev API key, and any Jev usage charges are separate and handled by Jev.
You do not need a SlopAlert account. Enter your email during Dodo checkout, and we will send your SlopAlert activation key and download instructions there. You must provide your own Jev API key in the extension.
Install the extension, open its popup, paste the activation key from your purchase email, and click Activate. The extension verifies the key before enabling scanning.
